Management
The management portion of my internship was nine weeks long, including one week of staff relief. Throughout this time, I worked with various individuals at the management level in the Nutrition and Food Services Department at the UC San Diego Medical Center. The different areas covered included patient services, catering/production, purchasing/finance, and cash operations/marketing. Not only was I able to observe and learn how each of these areas function as part of a whole, I was given ample opportunities to pursue projects and obtain hands on learning. Several of these projects can be found below.
